Crows – Pray

Love noise? You’re in for a treat; Pray is layered and layered with it. Beautifully distorted guitars, thrashing drums and a bass line that’ll bowl you over. Match this with howls of front man James Cox and you’ve got yourself a killer track. Crows are up to something, something exciting.

Broken Hands – Death Grips

It sounds filthy and beautiful. It pulsates, dictating your heartbeat. It is an awesome Drone-Rock track that proves all of Broken Hands credentials are up to scratch. People have had big hopes for the band who played support for The Rolling Stones, and this sounds like these hopes could finally come into fruition.

Death Cab For Cutie – No Room In The Frame

It’s back to basics for Death Cab, and to great effect. This track feels much more familiar then the band did on ‘Codes and Key’s’, even with the departure of long time guitarist Chris Walla. ‘No Room In The Frame’ is a beautiful sunny pop tune full of the character this band have rooted in them.

The Singles – Candy

Scarlett Johansson’s latest project is miles away from her solo album “Anywhere I Lay My Head”, but by recruiting Haim member Este they’ve managed to create soul swaying, electric pop music with new girl group The Singles. The first taste of this new venture “Candy” is awesome bubble-gum pop, and is further proof that Sco-Jo can do anything well (Let’s just forget about Don-Jon).

Blur – Go Out

Probably the most exciting news of the week is Blur announcing their new album ‘The Magic Whip’ is out in April. Equally as exciting was the first taste ‘Go Out’. This sounds like Blur, thank god. Alex James steals the show on the bass, but it’s an amazing song all round from one of the most important British bands ever.
